growing with acne

Couple of questions about outgrowing acne. What exactly happens when you "outgrow it"? what changes in your skin? Is there a usual time when you outgrow acne, like within so many years and does when you started puberty affect when you would usually outgrow it? for instance, I was what you call a "late bloomer" and so was my brother. Both of us started puberty late, and both of us developed moderate acne in our later teens. I am currently 21 and my brother is 23. Up until the last few months my brother has always had acne and now it just seems to have slowly stopped and he has almost no acne anymore. I asked him what he was doing to clear his face up and he said "nothing at all, its just clearing up". He did start smoking alot of pot afew months before his face cleared but I dont believe that had anything to do with it. My brother takes horrible care of his skin, I mean he goes days without even washing it, constantly has his hands on his face etc etc and yet his acne is almost non-existent. Is he just finally outgrowing his acne? Im hoping this is the case because that would mean I should start outgrowing mine in the next year or two. How do i know if I have a good chance of outgrowing my acne?

What I meant besides "outgrowing it" is that you have to do things in the right direction to help the body "outgrow it." You have to eat and drink healthy, sleep with good ventilation and without waking to an alarm clock, have good support groups so that you don't stress out, and basically live a healthy lifestyle. Then on top of that take specific medicine for acne.

I don't think chronological passage of time by itself will cure acne. What must accompany that passing of time is the aforementioned healthy lifestyle and also the acne-care regimen that works for you.

I used to think I would grow out of my acne. But, I noticed that if anything it got worse. So, I paid attention to my lifestyle and noticed that I was under increasing stress, lack of sleep, and increasingly filling my body with toxins such by hanging out in smoke-filled clubs getting totally wasted. After I made the positive lifestyle changes and incorporated many of the acne tips on this site and from dermatologists and from holistic medicine my body "outgrew acne." well, i guess there are always exceptions. if it's a minor case then yes you can outgrow it. the body heals itself on a daily basis and does a major amount of healing during sleep. it will correct the causes of acne on its own. but if there is a major imbalance in the body, and it is overworked then it will be difficult for it to heal itself.

I hope you find the regimen that works for you.
